NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Daily Devotional Message

Exodus 3:2 “There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up”
Moses had shepherded Jethro, his father-in-law’s sheep in the area of mount Horeb for 40 years but has never experienced the sight of a bush on fire that is not burning. The question is, what does the bush represent for us today: a. It is a symbol of the people of God because we are afflicted but not destroyed: Paul says in 2 Corinthians 4:8–9 “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. b. The Hebrew word used to describe this bush comes from the word “to stick or to prick” like a thorn-bush. This reminds us about the cross where Jesus was crowned with thorns and endured the fires of judgment and yet was not consumed by them in John19:1-3, 5, 28. As you begin the week I pray God will give you the Spirit of resilience to withstand every fire that is thrown at you. I declare that you will victoriously not fall like Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego. Amen.
