Daily Devotional Message

Ephesians 5:20 says, “And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
A Sin of Omission that we hardly acknowledge is that of ingratitude. Ingratitude is not only refusing to thank God for what we receive but also for what we have not received. In the first day of the month of March, it is important for us to thank the Lord for life. My younger sister, her husband and their year old son visited me sometime ago from Ohio. They had planned an early morning return flight to enable them prepare for work in the evening but were delayed at the airport for over twelve hours, amid the cry of their baby from fatigue and exhaustion, from sitting at one place for hours and figuring out how to call off from work. As we texted each other, my message to her was simple: “give thanks to God for everything. Paul tells us again in Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” This Lenten Season, have you thanked God in all things, no matter the circumstance, because God is good and loving and merciful and faithful? I declare and decree today that you will always have the spiritual eyes to see the brighter side of every situation in your life and be thankful.  Amen
