Romans 8:38-39- For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Death is dreaded for all and sundry. What lies behind the grave is full of doubts and anxiety. Any news of death brings sadness in our lives. Any dreams of death gives us a springboard of prayer to avert this disaster that has been put on mankind. No one likes death. However, there is hope for the believer who has accepted Jesus Christ as the Savior “Hallelujah”. In today’s scriptures, we see that the life we have on earth here is temporal. It will definitely come to an end. The Romans writer points out that death or life cannot separate us from the love of God in Christ. This tells us that there is another type of life which is different from the scriptures which death has no power over. This life is Jesus himself because in him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind (John 1:4). It’s my prayer that we will have an assurance in the word that we have eternal life which is beyond the graves and so our hope is in the Lord. Amen.
